I was invited to officially photograph Just Jam Intl 2014 and I had an absolutely amazing time. Bad Taste Cru always put on a dope jam and this year’s event was one for the memory pod! I actually photographed their Jam & Juice Theatre night the night before. Head over HERE to view that post.
For the competition itself I set up a mini studio, covered the battles and also got some pics of the vibe of the place to mix in too. Here are some words from Just Jam:
Just Jam Intl is an annual celebration of Break Dance & Hip Hop Culture in the North East of England, organised by Bad Taste Cru in association with Juice Festival and Dance City.
It hosts an exciting program of events over 5 days culminating in three key strands: Battle, Theatre and Community (B.T.C).
With over 100 competitors traveling to battle from all over the UK and Europe, 30 artists performing on the theatre bill and over 200 attending the workshops, boot camp and seminar, Just Jam Intl is quickly becoming a festival in its own right.
Just Jam Intl also hosts a string of pre-parties, after parties and jams throughout the weekend to keep the festival vibes flowing and to allow time for attendees to connect and socialize outside of the main events.
Just Jam is a philosophy not just an event.
Just Jam means to just play, and as dancers, to play, is to let go of everything and connect with the music.
B-Boys and B-Girls from all over the world competed for £500 prize money and the coveted title of Just Jam Intl champion.
