The Wedding of Nic & Tom

I had the most amazing time with the happiest couple I've met! These two are literally made for each other. We spent the morning at Middlethorpe Hall in Bishopthorpe on the outskirts of York taking a set of prep shots. We had a sip of prosecco (which turned into a glass full) then off we went on a vintage bus ride to The Principal Hotel in York centre, right next to the station. The guests had been told to meet there to be collected by taxi, not knowing they had the epic Albion Valkyrie waiting outside to whisk them all back to Middlethorpe Hall! At The Principal we were treated to fizz and canape's, and it meant everybody got the chance to catch up and see each other. Nic & Tom planned this so well. It was such a happy vibe in that place. I got to take some candid photos and a few posed shots. I met the three young lads who were simply the best - properly up for taking photos for the occasion and kind as anything too!

The trip towards the National Trust venue where the wedding was taking place was a smooth, old-school yet funny ride out to Bishopthorpe passing by many tourist spots on route. We got to see the epic York Racecourse but unfortunately it wasn't a race day so we didn't get to see any horses. When we arrived at Middlethorpe Hall we headed to the ceremony room, upstairs and opposite where Nic & Tom got ready. The location was so amazing, what a unique spot to get wed! I love a bit of history and ended up finding myself a little distracted by the amount of original features in this building. I think one of my favourite areas had to be the lawned area and gardens, man I could spend so long exploring and chilling out on the patio if I wasn't working. There was even a deer in the field that very morning! (yes, I did think we should try to get a portrait with it but I swiftly scrapped the silly idea, haha) The ceremony itself was so cute, very cosy and full of love. There were readings given by family members which brought on a few tears. This goes to show the true love in that room! After vows and rings the happy couple took us all out onto the lawn for group photos and a chance for me to capture some portraits of the newlyweds alone. This wedding was a treat, and I felt that I was blessed with an abundance of smiles all day long. Like I mentioned earlier it was just so real, so happy and so loving. This is what true love is all about! I had to direct nobody and captured the essence of a day right in front of me as it happened. Can every shoot I do be like this one please?!

I am so pleased with the photos we took, the feel of the day comes shining through as we went with a vintage feel for many aspects of the wedding. So it made sense to give it a filmic look on the edit. I want to say thanks to everyone involved on the day. I could not have asked for anything else.

Until I see you again, take care and keep loving!!

Scott x
