Darlington Markets held a fantastic event spanning four days that boasted a huge range of international sellers and products. There’s been exhibitions, showcases and performances alongside the many market traders culminating in a grand finale of Tribute acts in the Market Square that you can find out about that HERE
The event has been sponsored by Arriva and supported by Heart Radio. There were kids rides, hot continental food and wares sold of many kinds to the influx of residents and visitors of the town. I witnessed a fabulous showcase of 1940’s music by The Hotsie Totsies and found myself singing along with the harmonies… only kidding, they were great and I would have ruined it!
Darlington had its very own Town Crier competition which provided much entertainment. Criers from all over the country were pitching for the coveted title. I wish I could get away with wearing something like that and shouting that loud (consistently!). The main square had a presentation of World War 2 vehicles and display stalls. Coupled with the Hotsie Totsies I think everyone got right into the spirit of things!
The guys in the Darlington Borough Council Markets Team sure know how to put on an absolutely successful event! Have a look through some of the images here below and you can find the full album from Saturday HERE.
